a little less conversation

so hot showers in winter are miraculously idea-generative! must be something about the hot water molecules reacting with hair follicles that stimulate the brain and stuff. yeah i know i make complete sense.

anyway, 10 minutes in the cubicle, and i think it's at times easier to talk to strangers than to friends because of

1. reduced expectations

2. availability of fixed 'introductory' question sets

3. less pressure/obligation to stay in a conversation

4. fewer expected relationship repercussions ---> less self censorship

which then brings me to my favourite movie quote -

'why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bs in order to be comfortable? ...... That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the f up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence.'
